The NX Editor, equipped with Attributes-Based Requirements (ABR) functionality, meets the needs of manufacturers of VIN-specific wire harnesses. In these operations, wire harnesses are manufactured for installation in low-volume, highly optionable products such as large trucks or buses. Each truck or bus must be equipped with a unique combination of customer-ordered options, and the wire harnesses that support those options must be fabricated for each truck or bus.

The NX Editor (ABR enabled) provides the capability to create a master program that defines all sub-harnesses for each possible option and to compile a unique program for every wire harness to be tested based on a VIN-specific list of options.
