NX Server

NX Server
  • Network transfer of program files
  • Robust reporting solution
  • Monitor NX Testers status

Dynalab’s NX Server will change the way you manage your wire harness testing operations. With the NX Server it is possible to manage NX program files, monitor the status of your NX Testers, and generate production reports. The NX Server is accessed through a simple yet powerful web-based interface from any computer connected to the network.

5-5005……NX Server

From a single screen, users can quickly examine the status of all NX Testers on the network, or of a selected group of NX Testers. Important information about each NX Tester is readily visible such as the name of the currently-selected test program, and the part number being tested.

NX Server Monitor

Status icons provide quick, easy-to-recognize information about the current state of each NX Tester on the network:

NX Server Busy

Status is unknown – Tester is not responding

NX Server Green

Tester is running a program

NX Server Blue

Tester is not running a program

From the convenience of a user’s desktop, detailed information about any individual NX Tester can also be examined.

NX Server Config

One of the most valuable capabilities of the NX Server is the central depot for test programs. This capability ensures that NX Testers have access to the latest version of each test program from a single location. To accomplish this, the NX Server provides access to a central directory containing NX Test programs:

Retrieve Network Files using the NX Tester menu

Any NX Tester that is connected to the network has access to program files stored on the NX Server. Access is through a simple sequence of menu selections through the NX Tester’s menu:

NX Server Tester Menus

Send Network Files using the NX Server web interface

From the convenience of a user’s desktop, the application allows the selection of a test file from directories on the NX Server and send a copy of the file to one or more NX Testers connected to the network.

NX Server Push

The NX Server provides the additional capability of collecting reports from NX Testers and storing the data in a Relational database. In addition to the suite of standard reports that are provided with the NX Server, customers may choose to develop custom reports using SQL-based reporting tools.

The Reports View displays the following standard reporting options:

NX Server Report SS2

Product Detail Report
The Product Detail Report displays every report sent by each selected NX Tester during the specified time frame.

Summary by Product Report
The Summary by Product Report provides a summarized view of program names, part numbers, cycle times, units failed, units good, and total units for a specified range of dates.

Summary by Tester Report
The Summary by Tester Report provides a summarized view of testers, program names, part numbers, cycle times, units failed, units good, and total units for a specified range of dates.

Reporting
The NX Server provides the additional capability of collecting reports from NX Testers and storing the data in a Relational database. In addition to the suite of standard reports that are provided with the NX Server Enterprise Edition, the customer may choose to develop custom reports using SQL-based reporting tools.

The Reports View displays the following standard reporting options:

NX Server Report SS2
Product DetailProvides a list of individual reports for a specified range of dates and testers
Summary by ProductProvides a summarized view of cycle times, units good, and units failed by program name and part number for a specified range of dates.
Summary by TesterProvides a summarized view of cycle times, units good, and units failed by program name and part number for a specified range of dates and testers.

Product Detail Report
The Product Detail Report displays every report sent by each selected NX Tester during the specified time frame:

NX Server Report SS3

Each line of the Product Detail Report corresponds to a single report transmitted by an NX Tester to the NX Server. Information about a report is displayed on a single horizontal line, organized into 6 columns:

Program Name:The name of the program
Part #:The part number
Tester Serial:The serial number of the NX Tester
Cycle Time:The cycle time as reported in the NX Tester’s counter variable $PC8
Errors:The number of errors reported
Report Date/Time:The date and time the report was transmitted to the NX Server.
NX Server Report SS5

Clicking on any Report Date/Time will display the Product Connections report for the selected timestamp:

The Product Connections report displays the test results for one wire harness. Each line of the Product Connections Report corresponds to a wire, component, or detection switch in the wire harness, organized into 10 columns:

Type:The type of test
Point:The two connection points for the test.
Name:The wire name.
Color:The wire color.
Set:The expected value.
Actual:The measured value.
Tolerance:If the line corresponds to a Resistor, Capacitor, or Generic Component, this column displays the tolerance.
Miswired:Contains an X if the connection is miswired.
Failed:Contains an X if the test for this line item failed.

Summary by Product Report
The Summary by Product report provides a summarized view of cycle times, units good, and units failed by program name and part number for a specified range of dates:

NX Server

Each line of the Summary by Product report corresponds to a unique combination of Program Name and Part #. Summary information about each Program Name / Part # combination is displayed on a single horizontal line organized into 8 columns:

Program Name:The name of the program.
Part #:Part number if defined.
Avg. Cycle:The average cycle time in seconds.
Min. Cycle:The minimum cycle time in seconds.
Max Cycle:The maximum cycle time in seconds
Units Failed:The number of testers that failed.
Units Good:The number of testers that passed.
Total Units:The total number of testers.

Summary by Tester Report
The Summary by Tester report provides a summarized view of cycle times, units good, and units failed by program name and part number for a specified range of dates and testers:

NX Server Report SS7

Each line of the Summary by Tester report corresponds to a unique combination of Tester Serial Number, Program Name and Part #. Summary information is displayed on a single horizontal line organized into 9 columns:
